Dallas Energy Inspections
In March 2008, The Dallas City Council passed an ordinance
that modified the Dallas Building Code to adopt provisions of the
2006 International Energy Conservation Code (IEEC) to improved energy efficiency
of properties being built and renovated. These modifications designate a
proscriptive requirement for specific components to be installed in these
properties. They also designated 3rd party Inspector requirement to provide
these inspections. 3rd party inspectors are to Home Energy Raters (HERS) or IECC
Residential or Commercial Energy Inspectors. A Closer Look Inspection Service
has both types of inspectors on staff to meet your Dallas Energy Inspection
needs.
Energy efficiency is becoming more important in today's world with higher
fuel prices and concerns about global warming. The Dallas Energy Inspections
have specific requirements for window glazing U factors, as well as minimum
requirements for wall and ceiling insulation values, HVAC duct insulation and
Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratings (SEER). There are some trade off allow to
achieve the desired energy efficiency levels.
Our trained Dallas Energy Inspectors and Energy Auditors
are there to help you work your way through the Dallas Energy Inspection
process. Typically this requires two inspections; one before the walls are sheet
rocked and the last before the final Electrical inspection.
